Tencent Hunyuan 3D: create models from a single image or multi-view photos, with speed and quality variants (Turbo, Mini) for different needs.
3D prompts work best when they describe silhouette, materials, and output intent. The stronger the build brief, the more usable the resulting asset becomes.
Best results start with a clear subject, materials, and output goal.
Hunyuan3D V2 / V2.1 / V2 Turbo, Mini, Multi-View is Tencent’s earlier Hunyuan 3D family on Pixio. Create 3D models from text, a single image, or multi-view photos (1–4 views), with variants tuned for speed or efficiency: Turbo for fast generation (e.g. ~1 second with Flash VDM), Mini for low VRAM and lightweight output (e.g. 5GB VRAM, ~0.6B), and Multi-View for higher accuracy from several angles. PBR materials, polygon optimization, and standard export formats (GLB, etc.) make it a strong fit for game assets, props, and rapid prototyping—especially when you want speed or multi-view input without stepping up to V3/V3.1.

| Mode | Input | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Text to 3D | Prompt only | Concepts from scratch; describe shape, material, style |
| Image to 3D | Single image | Quick draft from one reference |
| Multi-View | 1–4 images of same subject from different angles | Higher accuracy, better spatial consistency, fewer artifacts |
| Option | Values | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Variant | V2, V2.1, Turbo, Mini, Multi-View | V2/V2.1 base quality; Turbo for speed; Mini for low VRAM; Multi-View for 1–4 image input |
| Turbo | On / Off (when available) | Flash VDM acceleration; much faster (e.g. ~1s) vs standard (e.g. ~30s) |
| Mini | When available | Lightweight (e.g. 0.6B); 5GB VRAM min; stylized, clean geometry for props and rapid prototyping |
| Multi-View | 1–4 reference images | More views = better capture of shape and spatial relationships |
| Export | GLB, etc. | PBR materials and polygon optimization; check Pixio for current formats |
Credits and exact limits depend on variant; check the model card in Pixio.
V2 / V2.1 are the base quality tiers—solid text and image-to-3D with PBR and export. Turbo uses Tencent’s Flash VDM to cut generation time dramatically (e.g. from tens of seconds to about one second), so you can iterate fast. Mini shrinks the model (e.g. 0.6B) for low VRAM and quick, stylized outputs—good for props and drafts. Multi-View accepts one to four perspective images and uses them together for more accurate geometry. Use V2/Turbo/Mini when you don’t need the highest fidelity or sketch/part-segmentation features of Hunyuan 3D V3/V3.1; use V3/V3.1 when you need max quality, face-count control, or sketch-to-3D.
Text-to-3D: [Subject] + [Shape] + [Material] + [Style]. Example: "A wooden barrel with metal bands, rounded shape, weathered wood and iron, game asset style."
Image-to-3D: Clear reference, good lighting, readable silhouette. One strong image is enough for a draft.
Multi-View: Provide 1–4 images of the same object from different angles (e.g. front, side, three-quarter). Consistent lighting and background help; more views generally improve result quality.
| Scenario | Best choice |
|---|---|
| Fast or lightweight text/image to 3D, multi-view | Hunyuan3D V2 / Turbo / Mini / Multi-View |
| Highest quality, sketch input, part segmentation, 40K–1.5M faces | Hunyuan 3D V3 / V3.1 |
| Quick single-image draft, no multi-view | Image to 3D or Meshy |
| Full pipeline: generate + segment + rig + export | Tripo or Meshy |
| Remesh or retexture only on existing mesh | Meshy |
Lead with silhouette before detail.
Materials help the model resolve form more clearly.
Say what the asset is for: product, game, animation, visualization.
Refinement should serve the pipeline, not just aesthetics.
A strong 3D prompt defines silhouette, materials, and final use so the result feels buildable instead of vague.
Describe the subject, silhouette, scale, and material language so the asset has a clear physical identity.
Use images or multi-view inputs when the object shape needs to survive more accurately.
Improve the asset once the core shape works so it fits better into game, product, or visualization workflows.
Hunyuan3D V2 / V2.1 / V2 Turbo, Mini, Multi-View is strongest when the prompt reads like a build spec instead of a loose concept caption.
Use it for product forms, environment props, stylized assets, or 3D pipelines that need a strong starting mesh.
When refining, optimize toward the final destination instead of trying to solve everything in the first prompt.
Say what the object is and how it should read at a glance before chasing detail.
Describe the surface language and what the asset is meant for so the model has a stronger target.
Once the form is correct, improve readiness for texturing, animation, or export instead of starting over.
Use image generation first when you need a clearer concept frame before turning it into an asset.
Once the form works, stylization tools can push the asset into a more distinct final language.
